Lafayette, LA – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., (R-Southwest Louisiana), today announced a grant totaling more than $1 million for a coastal restoration project along the Freshwater Bayou navigation channel.
“The Coastal Impact Assistance Program, which receives funding from offshore energy production royalties, provides critical grants to advance coastal restoration work,” said Boustany. “Today’s grant helps lay the groundwork for a significant project.”
Boustany announced the $1,101,399.00 Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) grant will fund the preliminary engineering and design requirements for the construction of seven miles of rock revetment shoreline protection.
