Vietnam Veteran, Republican Study Committee Founder Endorses Dr. Boustany

26-Nov-2012 (Lafayette, LA) – Dr. Boustany’s campaign announced it received the endorsement of Vietnam war hero and Republican Study Committee founder and former Chairman, Congressman Sam Johnson, earlier today. Dr. Boustany offered the following statement in response to the news:

“I’m honored and thankful to receive the support and endorsement of my colleague and good friend Sam Johnson. Congressman Johnson is a principled and conservative hero on Capitol Hill where he founded the Republican Study Committee. As the House Ways and Means Subcommittee Chairman on Social Security, Sam is a lead advocate in protecting Social Security for our seniors. His endorsement of my campaign shows my commitment to honor the promises we’ve made to our nation’s seniors.”

Congressman Sam Johnson added, “As a former Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, I’m endorsing Charles because of the consistent and conservative leadership he provides Congress. Our country needs him in Washington. Charles and I have served together on the House Ways and Means Committee working side by side on important issues facing our nation ranging from preserving Social Security for seniors to rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars within the federal government. As a doctor, Charles continues to lead the charge to repeal and replace Obamacare by providing valuable insight.”
